DIBs Information

To support the success of our program, we rely on volunteers to assist with various tasks throughout the Dickinson Diamonds softball season. By having families formally sign up for volunteer sessions, we can distribute responsibilities fairly and ensure consistent support across the duration of the season. Starting in the 2026 season, each Diamonds family must fulfill 2 DIBs sessions during the season.

What are DIBs?

DIBs sessions are volunteer shifts that include a variety of tasks for Diamonds families to chose from. Each DIBs session requires a 1.5 hour time commitment and can be completed in a variety of ways.

There will be opportunities to provide supervision at the Sanford Complex during league nights, various field projects throughout the season, and many openings during our home travel tournament, the Diamond Classic.

Requirements for Diamonds Families

All Dickinson Diamonds families will be required to complete 2 DIBs sessions each season, equating to 3 total hours, regardless of the number of children they have playing, and regardless of the program they are registered in (league and/or travel).

Example: A family with two daughters playing league and one daughter playing travel are still only required to complete 2 DIBs sessions.

To provide clarity and ensure participation, this expectation will be included in each player’s online registration.

Registration will also require an acknowledgement that a $300 volunteer deposit and $100 no-show fee will be charged to the card used during registration should a family’s DIBs not be completed.

Buyout Option

For those who are not interested in completing the required DIBs sessions, a “buyout” option will be provided during online registration. The $400 buyout fee will be added to the other season fees and the card provided at checkout will be charged.

DIBs Expectations

Anyone completing DIBs must be at least 18 years old.

When signing up for DIBs, it's crucial to provide accurate information and arrive punctually for your scheduled shift. If you're more than 15 minutes late, a substitute will be arranged, and you'll need to find another DIBs shift to sign up for.

Canceling Your Dibs Shift:

You may cancel a DIBs shift online up to 3 days before your scheduled shift.
If you need to cancel within 3 days of your shift, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. If you're unable to do so, email Dickinson Diamonds to request cancellation.

Please note: cancellations within this window are not guaranteed.

If you cancel within 24 hours of your shift:

The card filed during online registration will be charged the $100 no-show fee.
You are still responsible for finding a replacement.
If you cancel and do not notify Dickinson Diamonds, your card will be charged both the $100 no-show fee and the $300 volunteer deposit.

If a family does not show up for their scheduled DIBs shift:

Your card will be charged both the $100 no-show fee and the $300 volunteer deposit.

If unexpected situations arise, please email Dickinson Diamonds as soon as possible to discuss next steps.

Game Cancellation Notice:

If a scheduled game is canceled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, we follow specific procedures to ensure clarity and communication with our participants:

Notification: Participants who have claimed DIBs for the affected session will be notified promptly. This notification will be relayed through coaches and posted on the Dickinson Diamonds Facebook page.
Rescheduling Information: The canceled game will be rescheduled to a new date, which will be communicated along with the cancellation notice.
DIBs Season Updates: Our Dibs season schedule will be updated to reflect the rescheduled date. Sign-up participants will be notified of this change through the email they signed up with.
Participant Responsibility: If a participant cannot attend the rescheduled DIBs session, they must email Dickinson Diamonds as soon as possible.
No-Show Check: If the participant does not show up for their rescheduled shift, their card will be charged the $100 no-show fee, and they will be required to make up a session.
